Given the amazing interest in our 'who won 2008' article, we've decided to delve a little deeper into the Metacritic stats. How deep did we go? Subterranean. Until we hit a sewerage pipe that spewed out the very, very worst games of 2008.

Below is a listing of the 'bottom 50' games released during this year. Truly the lowest of the low, the very cream of the crap of 2008.

Have a quick check of the pie chart and see which particular platforms fell victim to the worst games, which developers were repeat offenders, and check through the games list too - you may even own some of them...

Do you think it's possible that 'The Shig' needs to go back to his very neglected drawing board and come up with a new mascot?

Over 20 years of Mario, Zelda, Shamus & Kong is enough for even the most rabid fanboy. 

I think Mayor Haggar should head to Nintendo HQ and gut-punch some sense into these fools.

I gather that chart is intentionally coloured in six different shades of shit.  And PS2 so aptly represented in Bali-belly green.  Nice.
