Ghostbusters release date, screens and trailer

I ain’t afraid of no ghost

It seems that this morning is filled with news about the survival of once-Activision/Blizzard titles. First there was the Riddick sequel, and now Ghostbusters has some news of its own. As with The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Ghostbusters was a title that many were sad to see initially dropped before Atari swung in to save the day.

According to MCV, who recently attended a UK press event, Atari has committed to a release date for Ghostbusters. June 2009 is the planned release window for the busting of ghosts, with the game set to be made public simultaneously on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii and DS.

To coincide with the announcement of the release date, Atari has also released some new next-gen screenshots for the upcoming game that you can check out at the top of the page. As if that wasn’t enough, a Ghostbusters movie-style trailer is also now available and you can watch it in all of its cheesy glory below.
